Ascending to high altitudes may cause high-altitude illness (HAI) in some people. Lower oxygen levels in the air cause HAI and, thus, the blood. Travel to high altitudes may also exacerbate certain pre-existing medical conditions. If you have concerns about developing altitude sickness because of prior episodes or other risk factors, please consult with a knowledgeable healthcare provider.
Participants will need to be able to walk moderate distances unassisted, climb stairs, manage uneven surfaces and altitudes up to 12,000 feet above sea level.
