Ensemble Iberica awarded artist residency at Casa Ocea in Mexico.

In preparation for our upcoming concerts on September 23rd and 24th, Ensemble Iberica and Latin Grammy-winning vocalist, violinist, and composer, Mireya Ramos have been awarded a five-day artistic residency at Casa Ocea (Chuburná Puerto, Mexico). This is a diverse group of artists from many different musical traditions each bringing their unique perspectives to the project. During this residency, the ensemble will research local folkloric styles in the neighboring town of Mérida and compose a new program that will be performed at Casa Ocea. Videographer Andy Averbuch will make on-site recordings that will be presented to our funders at the end of the process.

Our residency will begin on September 4th and we are currently raising funds for travel expenses. We would very much appreciate your support.

Mireya Ramos – vocals/violin
Beau Bledsoe – guitars
John Currey – percussion
Ezgi Karakus – cello
Andy Averbuch – audio/video
