Join us for a fascinating concert that celebrates the music and film of the golden age of Mexican cinema. The event will feature new musical arrangements by Ensemble Iberica, as well as insights from guest speaker Alejandra Gomez from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. In partnership with the Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City, we invite you to immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of The Golden Age of Mexican Cinema through its iconic films and timeless music.

Special Guest Speaker: Alejandra Gomez
Alejandra Gomez is an independent researcher and writer specializing in cultural issues, particularly cinema and photography. She holds a doctorate with Honorable Mention and a Master’s in Art History from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, a Communication degree with Honorable Mention from Universidad Iberoamericana, and a diploma in Contemporary Art and World Religions from ITAM. She received the Best Doctoral Thesis award from UNAM’s Research Center on North America. Her work has been published in Gaceta UNAM and her book, “An Allegorical Puzzle, A Spanish Romance of the American Southwest,” was published by UNAM in 2013. Alejandra has taught at Universidad Iberoamericana, UNAM, and Casa Lamm Study Center, and frequently speaks at colloquiums in Mexico and abroad. She is recognized for her work as an iconographer, researcher, writer, and editor.
